MOU

TKK & TGI sign MOU, announcing readiness to move forward with Thai industry, with the finish line at Industry 4.0 across the system.

The implementation of investment promotion measures in targeted industries to create a new economy is a key driver of investment in the country. This is coupled with the BCG Model policy to drive the economy forward, creating added value alongside environmental stewardship. Furthermore, investments in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the 10-province Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and the special economic corridors in each region, as well as investment in various transportation infrastructure, are all working in tandem to enhance opportunities for the development of Thailand's industrial sector and drive economic activities that generate significant revenue for the country. This is a dynamic that has been evident throughout 2023.

Recently, a significant collaboration emerged between TKK Corporation Co., Ltd., a Thai SI (System Integrator) specializing in the integration of automation and robotics into modern manufacturing, and the Thai-German Institute (TGI), a training institute with comprehensive knowledge of modern manufacturing systems used in the industrial sector. Both organizations share a shared commitment to transferring essential knowledge to equip Thai industrial personnel with essential skills, as well as collaborating on research and developing key technologies that will propel Thai industry towards Industry 4.0 in the near future.

TKK moves forward with "building partnerships" to push the Thai industrial sector into the Industry 4.0 era.

On the occasion of the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Thai-German Institute and TKK Corporation Co., Ltd., Ms. Kanlayanee Kongsomjit, Chief Executive Officer of TKK Corporation Co., Ltd., stated on this occasion that:

"This MOU marks the beginning of a formal collaboration between the Thai-German Institute and TKK Corporation. The two organizations have previously collaborated, and throughout our collaboration, we have found that both the Thai-German Institute and TKK Corporation share a shared commitment to fostering strong collaboration in academic activities, research, and academic services. They also consistently promote the enhancement of academic knowledge and practical skills among their agencies and personnel."

"Today, TKK Corporation has been established for 19 years. TKK began as a Thai-owned trading company, 100% Thai-owned, with registered capital of 250,000 baht. Currently, we have the government, Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand as shareholders. The fund, called the SME Trust Fund, is a step forward together. This fund was approved by the Cabinet, making TKK the first company to receive funding approval. This new funding, selected from a total of 200 companies, was approved six years ago. The Trust Fund, which considered the funding, recognized TKK's potential for growth as a Thai-owned, innovative and technological company specializing in industrial automation and robotics. Today, TKK is in its fourth year of operation, and TKK has demonstrated consistent growth. We expect to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand by 2025."

Kalyanee Kongsomjit, Chief Executive Officer, TKK Corporation Co., Ltd.

"However, due to the progress in accepting these important projects, we are now seeking partners and building collaborations with them. The Thai-German Institute is one of the institutions with which TKK has consistently been committed to partnering, as we believe in TGI's potential. For example, its location, nestled in a modern industrial area, offers a comprehensive network of at least 100 professors, academics, researchers, and highly qualified consultants with expertise in technologies used in various manufacturing industries."

"Therefore, with TGI's strengths and experience, TKK is confident that we can work together and be good partners. We anticipate that both organizations will complement each other's ecosystems very well. I am confident that having a good partner will enable us to expand our business, not just domestically, but also internationally, taking on projects all over the world. There are still many opportunities for us to expand our business abroad. TKK is confident that the reputation of Thai companies is globally trusted, comparable to other countries."

"If government and private organizations, professional associations, and training institutions join forces in a network, this will further strengthen international trust, enhance Thailand's reputation, and bring pride to Thais and Thai companies."

"Recently, during a study visit to the United States, I collaborated with Boston Technology, a major US company renowned for its robotics and automation systems. Soon, approximately 50 Harvard Business School MBA students will be visiting TGI for a study visit, and we're considering including them. If this plan goes according to plan, we see this as a great opportunity to expand our existing collaboration with Asian countries into Western countries. Therefore, in the future, in addition to TGI and TKK collaborating on training courses and academic services, we can also collaborate to build a reputation for Thailand in various dimensions."

Somchai Chakkrit, Director of the Thai-German Institute (TGI)

TGI points out that the collaboration with TKK will complement the Thai manufacturing industry, providing access to modern technology and directly addressing Smart Manufacturing needs.

Somchai Chakkreen, Director of the Thai-German Institute (TGI), added that regarding the signing of this cooperation agreement with TKK,

"The origin of this memorandum of understanding stems from the Thai-German Institute's mission to transfer advanced manufacturing technology to the industrial sector. It also has several other missions to help elevate entrepreneurs. For example, TGI will serve as a technology transfer center for design, manufacturing, automation, and robotics. TGI will also serve as a mechanism for the public and private sectors to drive Thai industry towards Industry 4.0, which is our core mission."

"Another shared mission with TKK is expanding cooperation with the industrial sector. TGI believes that in today's rapidly changing technological landscape, any single organization alone cannot meet the needs of entrepreneurs. TGI will therefore establish a collaborative network. We believe that TGI itself has networks with distinct strengths. If we bring together different sectors to complement each other's strengths, we can rapidly elevate entrepreneurs. This is the origin of the MOU with TKK."

Somchai Chakkrit, Director of the Thai-German Institute (TGI)

"TGI believes that TKK has strong technological strengths, which TKK Chemical has, and this technology can support entrepreneurs. Therefore, we have agreed to transfer technology, particularly in the areas of robotics and automation, to the industrial sector."

"TKK's latest innovation is the Cira Core, a key technology that will meet the needs of entrepreneurs seeking to upgrade their industries. Cira Core is a key technology for efficiently implementing AI in modern manufacturing processes. It also includes robotics technology that can be used to address these challenges and develop industrial personnel."

"TKK's key strength lies in its role as a System Integrator (SI) company, helping entrepreneurs develop automation and robotics systems. TKK has a comprehensive range of technologies and partners. Together, we can elevate Thai industrial entrepreneurs' access to technology that meets their needs."

"Furthermore, TGI prioritizes 5G technology and has continuously offered training courses and support to entrepreneurs in accessing this technology. This will help increase productivity, reduce production costs, and address labor shortages, enabling the entire Thai manufacturing industry to become a 4.0 system."

"Previously, we collaborated with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to develop a 5G test base to expand the pyramid from automation to full-fledged Industry 4.0. This requires case studies or use cases to address the Smart Manufacturing industry. TKK is able to integrate use cases into the 5G test base, such as Service Robots and the Cira Core program. This memorandum of understanding is a declaration of our vision to continue this collaborative effort."
